Twelve Days Until The Earl’s Undoing

Twelve days.

I’m not entirely sure how those two words can feel both thrilling and slightly unbelievable, but here we are.

On October 9, 2026, The Earl’s Undoing, my first historical romance novel and the first book in the Unconventional Victorians series, will be released on Kindle.

And I am so incredibly excited to finally say that.

For a very long time, Bennet Lancaster and Katherine Stuart existed only in my imagination—and then in notebooks, sketchbooks, post it notes, scraps of paper, research, drafts, revisions, and far too many open documents on my computer until I found the best way to keep me organized and productive.

I knew who they were long before anyone else did.

Bennet Lancaster, an earl who has spent a lifetime believing there are parts of himself better left guarded.

Kate Stuart, determined to become a physician in a world that has very definite opinions about what a woman should, and should not, do with her life.

Their story became one about love, certainly, but also about being allowed to become the person you were meant to be. About lowering defenses. About trust. About finding someone who sees all of you, not merely the version you present to the rest of the world, and chooses to stay.

That idea eventually became the question at the heart of my entire Unconventional Victorians series:

Can someone be fully seen, fully known, and fully loved?

But lately, something else has happened.

This book has started to feel real.

I recently saw the finished interior of The Earl’s Undoing in Vellum—the version that will eventually become the printed book. And there was one tiny detail that absolutely stopped me.

On one side of the page was my name.

And on the other was the title.

The Earl’s Undoing

And below them… words I had toiled over for the better part of two years… and I just… well… that was it.

After all the writing, revising, researching, questioning, changing things back, changing them again, and wondering whether I would actually reach this point someday, there it was.

My name.

My book.

I just sat there looking at it.

And I thought, I did this.

I wrote a novel.

Soon, other people are going to hold it. They are going to meet Kate and Bennet. They’re going to walk into Dartham Manor, Greystoke, and London and this slightly romanticized, sometimes complicated Victorian world that has occupied such a large corner of my imagination.

And, quite frankly?

I feel so flipping proud.

There are still things to do before release day. There always seem to be things to do. But for once, I’m allowing myself to stop looking at the next item on the publishing checklist long enough to appreciate this one.

Twelve days.

Bennet and Kate are almost yours.

And this is only the beginning. 🤎
